Workers Compensation Payments The Federal and State governments both have laws in relation to payment to injured workers. Although this is referred to as WorkCover in Wage Easy Payroll, it is equally applicable to schemes currently in force under other names such as Workers' Compensation or WorkCare. In addition to these laws, the award or employment conditions may stipulate conditions above the minimum legal requirements. Wage Easy Payroll can handle payments for all of these arrangements, and provide detailed management and employee reports. The normal arrangement is for the common Workers Compensation conditions to be setup in the award file. Wage Easy Payroll allows different Workers Compensation conditions for different awards as some provisions, especially pay make-up provisions, can vary between awards. Each employee will receive the relevant predefined company Workers Compensation factors when they are linked to an award. However, an individual employees predefined factors may be altered in the employee file section. In addition, the Workers Compensation calculations can be manually changed at the pay slip preparation stage. Workers Compensation payments, based on a percentage of normal weekday pay rate, will be paid to an employee under the Workers Compensation arrangements. Workers Compensation payments will be calculated on the basis of a percentage contribution from the Workers Compensation authority and the employer. It is possible to stipulate a maximum dollar amount to be contributed by the Workers Compensation authority in any one pay period. It is also possible to specify make-up pay from the employer, if the payment would exceed the maximum payable by the Workers Compensation authority |
